Our Vision
We envision a future where health data drives healthcare improvements across Africa, supporting informed policies, optimized insurance systems, stronger population health programs, and sustainable careers for emerging professionals.
About Afya Yangu
We help institutions transform fragmented health information into actionable evidence for policy, financing, population health, and healthcare delivery.
Who we are
Afya Yangu Data Solutions enables evidence-based healthcare through the practical, real-world use of health data. We support governments, insurers, healthcare providers, NGOs, researchers, and private institutions in transforming fragmented and underutilized health information into actionable insights for policy reform, insurance optimization, and population health management.
Our work bridges the gap between data collection and decision-making by ensuring that health information is governed effectively, analyzed rigorously, and applied where it matters most.
We envision a future where health data drives healthcare improvements across Africa, supporting informed policies, optimized insurance systems, stronger population health programs, and sustainable careers for emerging professionals.
To strengthen healthcare systems by improving the quality, governance, and application of health data while building local capacity in health information management, analytics, and evidence-based decision-making.
The challenge
Across Africa, vast amounts of health data are generated daily through hospitals, insurance schemes, community programs, laboratories, digital health platforms, and routine reporting systems.
Yet much of this data remains siloed, incomplete, or underutilized due to weak data systems, limited analytical capacity, and poor integration between policy, financing, and service delivery.
This health data gap hinders effective planning, slows policy adaptation, and limits the ability of health systems to respond to population needs. Without actionable data, healthcare decisions often rely on estimates or outdated information.
Our approach
We ensure health data is not just collected, but actively used to inform decisions, drive policy adaptation, and improve healthcare delivery across public and private sectors.
Strengthening accountability, stewardship, privacy, security, access control, documentation, and responsible data use.
Improving completeness, consistency, accuracy, timeliness, validation, and standardized reporting processes.
Guiding insurance design, resource allocation, population-level interventions, policy reform, and healthcare delivery.
Local capacity
We recognize that data challenges are not just technical; they are human. Many health institutions struggle due to a shortage of skilled professionals who can manage and analyze health information effectively.
